  • Jim Burk

    DVM

Dr Jim Burk grew up in Baton Rouge, LA and graduated form Louisana State University in 1981. He began working for VCA in 1998 at VCA Howell Branch Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian and them moved on to become the Medical Director. He is also the Medical Director at VCA East Colonial Hospital, in Orlando. " I became a Veterinarian because I grew up with, and loved dogs. I also enjoyed working with people. This profession allowed me to work with both people and their pets, which was pretty cool! Along the way, I fell in love with the very interesting creatures called cats which has further enriched my life. ".

  • Eva Diana Krampotich

    DVM

Dr. K was born in Tampa, Florida, but didn't get to stay there long, as her father was in the Air Force. She has lived in Florida, Virginia, Kansas, and Spain, and has lived in Orlando since 2002. She has a pitbull mix named Anarquia, a domestic short hair cat named (c)Harley (the cat's name was Harley, but Dr. K adopted her during Hurricane Charley and added the extra, silent, letter), and a domestic medium hair cat named Jezebel. Dr. K is fluent in English and Spanish. " I have wanted to be a Veterinarian since I was 6 or so years old, bringing home baby wrens which I thought were abandoned and needed assistance. My quest to help those creatures which we share our lives with has continued. It turns out that I am also fullfilling the 6th grade career profilr that claimed I was to follow a teaching career path, as educating pet owners is an important component of ensuring our companions receive the care they need. Everyday I have the opportunity to teach, and learn from my clients and staff, and have the opportunity to wear a variety of hats: immunologist, pediatrician, surgeon, dermatologist, endocrinologist, ophthalmologist, cardiologist, and even dentist! What other profession allows you to have such diversity? I look forward to coming to work every day and being surrounded by my loving VCA family, spending time with loved clients and pets, and meeting new ones. I love my career! ".
