  • Dr. Giovanni Vergel

    Dr. Vergel graduated with his doctorates degree in Veterinary Medicine on August 29, 2001 from the University of Ciencias Aplicadas & Ambientales in Bogota, Colombia. Just six months after retaining his doctorates, he moved to the US. While waiting to take the National Boards to become US certified to practice as a veterinarian, Dr. Vergel worked in several clinics in the Central Florida area. He also volunteered at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists for a little over a year.

  • Mayra Estrada

    Meet Mayra, our receptionist who is bilingual in Spanish. She has been working in the veterinary field for 4 years and also has a technician background of 3 years. She has gained her knowledge and skills through self-learning as well as attending Florida Institute of Animal Arts in the vet assisting program for a year. Mayra has 3 pets. Lilo her 6 year old Maltese, Nylah a 1 year old Lab/Chow mix and an African Grey Parrot named Amitt . She brought to work one day and he mimics the sound of the phones and caught all of us off guard. " My favorite part of working in the industry is going above and beyond to attend pets and their owners needs."

  • Diane Shields

    Diane is our head technician who will take great care of your pet during any surgical procedure. She has been in the veterinary field for 13 years. Throughout her years she has held a position as a receptionist, radiology and surgical technician. All of Diane's skills and knowledge has been self-learning through peers and mentors. She has 3 dogs, a ball python snake, and a fish. " My favorite part about working in this field is caring for and helping sick patients. I also have a weak spot for taking care of the kittens and puppies that visit our facility."

  • Lauren Keane

    Lauren is our lead technician who will take excellent care of your pet when they are staying with us in the hospital. She has a bachelors degree in psychology from University of Central Florida but realized she wanted to work with animals. Lauren started as a kennel technician 5 years ago and has promoted herself to a technician. She also gained her knowledge and skills through self-learning, peers, and mentors. Lauren has dogs that she adopted from rescue. Goose is her Corgi/English Bulldog who is 4 years old and Kahlua a miniature daschound who is 5 years old. " I love assisting in surgeries, intubating, placing IV catheters, and drawing blood."

  • Amber Crawford

    Amber is our technician who loves finding out what is wrong with your pet. She has been in the field since 2008. She started as a kennel technician and became a veterinary technician in 2011. She has attended Florida Atlantic University for 2 years and is currently attending Valencia, majoring in Biology. Along with schooling she has learned her skills and knowledge from hands on experiences. Luna is her beloved 3 year old Pitbull and she also owns Mylie her 8 month old kitten AKA kitty kitty. " What I enjoy most about working in the field is learning new things everyday regarding animal health. My passion is in pathology and being able to help/treat sick pets and nurse them back to health. "

  • Vanessa Castillo

    Vanessa is our technician who will make your pet feel loved like are at home when they are come in for a visit. She has attended Florida Institute of Animal Arts for the Vet Assistant program and has been in the field for 3 years non-stop. Working in the field has helped her gain experience for the knowledge and skills needed to be a technician. Vanessa has an American Pointer named Woody. " He is my right leg, where ever I go, he goes. He is very lovable, he loves children and other pets but is very scared of everything. " Vanessa was fostering him and 2 other puppies but decided to keep him because they became best friends. " I love helping pets. I love taking care of them and making them feel how special they are to this world. I feel satisfied at the end of the work day knowing that I helped at least one pet."
